Croquet Mallets

Rich Burns is the club’s Mallet Master and works with each member to select the most appropriate mallet then assures a custom fit to individual specifications.  Mallets are ordered from George Wood Mallets of New Zealand through Rich Burns and are shipped by UPS Worldwide in 3-4 days. Contact Rich Burns for additional details or to place your order.

Mallet length
Most players find that if they start with a 36” mallet it’s relatively easy to shorten.

Mallet weight
A 3.00 lb mallet is usually a good compromise and neither extreme of too light or too heavy is recommended.

Mallet Head size
The standard head size is 9 1/4” long by 2 3/8” wide by 2 1/2” high.

Grips
A range of grips is offered, but by far the most popular grip is a split leather grip.

Mallet Shaft types
Wood, fiber glass, and Carbon shafts are available.

Peripheral weighting
Recent rules of croquet allows the use of metal end plates.
